Are your hormones getting in the way of great skin?
I'd love to tell you that great skin is all about the right products. But when hormones are involved we need a litle bit of help from the inside too.
And it's not just your skin, your wellbeing and sense of calm and energy all stem from both the internal and external of your body being in balance.
It's a pursuit. Not a destination. Hormones move and flow, so it's a delicate balance across the months which takes understanding your body's rhythms. And just like the 'bermuda triangle' ...if one of those factors shifts (due to stress, kids, food etc) next minute you're out of balance again.
I've tried all of it over the years, so I thought I'd share my faves to help maintain balance from the inside-out.
(BIG disclaimer here, that I am not a Naturopath or Doctor. So please check with your own medical professionals before you seek to use any other following suggestions).
For the inside:
DIM:
This little powerhosue supplement I have used religiously for years. 'Di-indolylmethane' (DIM) is in basic terms, the extract of cruciferous vegetables such as kale - and supports the liver in mantaining healthy levels of estrogen.
I use this one:
30+ Woman:
It may seem a bit basic in name - (and btw I am over 40 so they should really adjust the brand name!) But this one contains Black Cohosh (also known as cimicifuga racemosa) which is also a little godsend for managing and balancing hormones especially after childbirth.

For the outside:
A simple cream cleanser baby!
Made from organic ingredients, choose a cleanser that will keep equilibrium by not stripping your skin of oils but... not over moisturising it either. A creamy cleanser helps you stay within the boundaries of balance.
CONVICTION Liquid Skin (of course).
Well researched and tested for years, this face oil is sure not to mess with your hormones.
With it's jojoba base being the closest plant oil to our skin's own sebum... plus the infusion of turmeric or kanuka for body balance, this is a constant 'hug' for your skin.
And there you have it.
Aiding your body's hormonal balance should not stress you out even more! No complicated steps, multitudes of pills or vast arrays of products.
Go for quality, (truly) natural and stuff that make sense.
(Oh and watch this space for CONVICTION's own internal solution that we're working on....coming soon! ;)
Here's to feeling normal most of the time,
xox
